Partner capital pays 50% of each domain and its hosting; Odys pays the other 50%, dollar for dollar. Domains are never above $500 all-in, aiming far lower — so a partner's share of a domain is $250 at most. Each partner's domains are ring-fenced to their own pool.
Odys puts in the other half of the capital, vets every domain against its acquisition criteria and guarantees its quality — a domain that fails vetting after purchase is replaced at Odys's cost. Odys hosts the domains, deploys them to the publisher in monthly batches, manages the publisher and operates the whole deal.
A publisher owning more than 10,000 sites builds each site, writes and refreshes content, ranks it, sells placements through its own sales team and collects payment — all funded from its 65%. It can absorb up to 3,000 new domains a month.
At month end Odys receives the publisher's statement and payment — 35% of gross per domain. Odys shares the statement with its partners and wires 50% of what it received to them, month over month. No deductions, no cost allocations. And we scale.
Not every domain will rank. We plan on 65% of built sites ranking — deliberately conservative; the rate we usually see is much higher. Any domain not earning after six months is withdrawn and redeployed.
Sites take time to mature. A ranking site earns ~$150 gross in its first month, ~$900 a month by month four and ~$1,000 from month seven. The partner's 17.5% grows with it.
Why this split works. The publisher carries every operating cost and the early-life risk. Odys carries half the capital plus vetting, quality assurance, sourcing and operations — and takes the same 50% of the 35% as the partner. Partner and Odys are paid identically on identical money; the partner's share is pure margin from month one.

Month 1 is a half month and not every ranking site is sold at once — 80% in month one, 90% in month two. Each domain is budgeted at $500 all-in, purchase plus hosting, of which the partner pays $250 and Odys $250; we never pay more than $500 for a domain and aim far lower, so every multiple here is a floor.

Where the numbers come from. Every site the publisher has launched over the last thirteen months, revenue by month of life. A site earns little in month one, roughly doubles a month to month three and settles at $900–1,000 from month four. The proposal tracks the trimmed mean for six months, then flattens at $1,000 while history keeps climbing — year one is 4% under the trimmed mean and 20% under the mean.
Conservative three ways. The curve is below history; only 65% of built sites are assumed to rank, well below the rate usually achieved; and nothing counts until a site is sold (80% in month one, 90% in month two). If the domains rank at the publisher's usual rate, every figure in this deck goes up — and the partner's 17.5% of gross goes up with it.
Hand-overs 500 a month, Nov–Feb. Each batch starts at $150 gross a site and takes six months to mature, so the run-rate keeps rising until summer and then holds.
~$228K a month to partners — ~$2.7M a year on the same 2,000 domains. Two-year total ~$4.7M on $500K of partner capital, about 9×. At our target average domain cost, well below $500, the multiple is higher still.
| Term | Proposal |
|---|---|
| Partner share | 50% of everything Odys receives on the partner's domains: 50% of the 35% gross share, i.e. 17.5% of gross collections |
| Use of funds | Domain purchases and their hosting; never above $500 all-in for a domain, target average far lower; tickets from $100K to $250K |
| Odys co-investment | Odys matches every partner dollar 1:1 — each domain is paid 50% by the partner and 50% by Odys, and Odys takes the same 50% of the 35% on it as the partner |
| Costs | Publisher: build, content, sales, operations. Odys: vetting, deployment, publisher management, reporting. Partner: nothing beyond the ticket |
| Ownership | Domains co-funded by a partner are ring-fenced to that partner's pool; sites and content belong to the publisher |
| Hand-over pace | ~500 domains a month to the publisher from November; the publisher can absorb up to 3,000 a month |
| Reporting & payment | Statement per domain at month end; partner's 50% wired the same cycle |
| Domain quality | Every domain vetted before purchase; one that fails the criteria is replaced by Odys at no cost to the partner |
| Non-ranking domains | Any domain not earning after six months is withdrawn and redeployed; its earnings follow the same 50/50 |
| Odys guarantee | Odys is the partner's counterparty and guarantees the deal and the payouts: the partner's 50% is wired in full as soon as the publisher's payment reaches Odys; if the publisher under-pays, defaults or the deal ends, Odys pursues collection, redeploys the domains, and the partner's 50% continues on whatever they earn |
$500 buys a domain and hosts it — $250 from the partner, $250 from Odys. If it ranks, it sends ~$1,740 to its partner in year one and ~$2,100 a year after that. Blended across the 35% that never rank, every $250 of partner capital returns ~$1,130 in year one and ~$1,370 a year from year two.
A signed ticket · a named partner contact for the monthly statement · agreement on pool size and hand-over schedule. The first 500 domains go to the publisher in November.
Partners contract with Odys, not the publisher. Odys puts in half the capital, vets and guarantees the quality of every domain bought, operates the deal end to end, guarantees that every monthly payout goes out the moment the publisher's money lands, and keeps the domains working — with this publisher or the next one — for as long as the partner holds them.
